Set up the student list file:
- Create the list in a spreadsheet program like Excel, Google Sheets, or Numbers.
- Header row (column titles) can be included in the list.
- First column (REQUIRED) - enter the students' first names
- Second column (REQUIRED) - enter the students' last names
- Third column (optional) - enter the students' grade (K - 12)
- Fourth column (REQUIRED) - enter the students' usernames. If that username combination is already taken, Vizzle will append it with a number, for example, johnsmith1.
- Fifth column (optional) - enter the students' passwords. The password is case-sensitive.
- Sixth column (REQUIRED) - enter the students' state ID number.
- Seventh column (optional) - enter Y/N if the students are in special education.
- Eighth column (optional) - enter the students' gender as male, female, or non-binary.
- Ninth column (optional) - enter the students' race as American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African American, Hispanic or Latino, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander, two or more races, White.
- Tenth column (optional) - enter the students' email addresses.
- Eleventh column (optional) - enter the students' DOB in mm/dd/yyyy format.
- Twelfth column (optional) - enter the students' Schoology ID if applicable.
- Save your file as a CSV file.
Import the student list file:
- Select Admin on the main menu.
- Click Students on the submenu.
- Select the district from the District drop-down menu and click Apply.
- Select the school you'd like to import students from the School drop-down menu and click Apply.
- Click the blue Import button.
- In the file browser, select your CSV file.
- The Summary dialog will show how many students were successfully imported.
- If there are any errors with a row, the reason will be displayed here.
