I can't drag-and-drop on my SMART Board or touchscreen laptop when on Chrome. How do I fix this?

If you're not able to drag-and-drop when using Chrome on a SMART Board (or other interactive whiteboard) or touchscreen laptop, then you may need to enable Chrome's Touch Events API. Here's how:

  • In Chrome, enter chrome://flags in the address bar.
  • Scroll down to the Touch Events API (or Touch initiated drag and drop) setting.
  • Select Enabled in the drop-down menu.
  • Restart Chrome.

Yes! I had a teacher say she couldn't drag and drop in a game (in java) using her Smart Board while in Chrome. This fixed it! Your tip saved me hours of time. Thanks for posting!
