Direct Links to District Scope and Sequences

Direct Links & Curriculum Planning

Detail Plan Links make it easy to connect Vizzle directly to the resources your district already relies on. Copy a link to any Unit, Topic, or Activity and paste it straight into a scope and sequence, pacing guide, or curriculum map — giving teachers one click from their planning documents to the exact materials they need. These links are just as useful in PLC meetings for aligning on instruction, in lesson planning to connect Vizzle content with other programs, and anywhere you want to reinforce standards-aligned instruction across a team or district.

VIDEO: How to Use Direct Links in Vizzle Lessons

A guide to sharing direct links to Units, Topics, and Activity detail plans

What this feature does

Units, Topics, and Activities in Vizzle Lessons now each have their own shareable link that opens directly to that page's detail plan — the view with the title, grade/curriculum tags, description, and Resources & Materials, rather than the activity itself.

Unit and Topic pages now have a 3-dot menu where these links did not exist before. A Topic's link also remembers the instruction level you were viewing, so whoever opens it lands on the same leveled content you were planning from.

On Activities, the existing "Share Link" option has been renamed "Activity Link" so it's clear that it opens the activity itself, now that a separate "Detail Plan Link" option sits alongside it.

Getting Started

1. Copy a link to a Unit, Topic, or Activity

Every level works the same way. On a Unit or Topic in Lessons, select the 3-dot menu and choose Detail Plan Link; on an Activity, select Detail Plan Link directly. The link takes anyone who opens it straight to that page's detail plan — the title, grade/curriculum tags, description, and Resources & Materials (and, for Activities, Extension Activities) — rather than the student-facing activity.

  • Unit link: Takes educator directly to the Unit Details Page to view Unit Guide, and view topics and activities.
  • Topic link: Takes the educator directly to the Topic Details Page. If no level is selected you will be prompted to select the level of instruction to open and assign, when the user educator lands on this page. If the educator clicked a level of instruction (example level 2 topic) it will direct the recipient to the leveled set of topic materials.
  • Activity link: Opens the lesson detail plan page, providing access to the activity overview, with the ability to assign, print, play, or create a direct student level shareable link.
  • The Detail Plan Link option on a Unit, Topic, and Activity.

2. Know the difference between Activity Link and Detail Plan Link

On Activities, you'll now see two link options:

  • Detail Plan Link: Opens the lesson detail plan page instead, for sharing how to teach the lesson rather than the lesson itself.
  • Activity Link (previously "Share Link"): Opens the activity itself, the same student-facing experience this option always opened.

3. Signing in from a shared link

If a user clicks on the new Detail Plan Link but is not signed into the platform, they will be prompted to sign in. Once signed in, they will automatically be navigated to the correct detail plan page.

Quick Reference

Where do I find these links? Use the 3-dot menu on a Unit or Topic, or the link options on an Activity, in Lessons.

What's the difference between Activity Link and Detail Plan Link? Activity Link opens the activity itself. Detail Plan Link opens the lesson detail plan page — title, tags, description, and Resources & Materials.

What happened to "Share Link" on Activities? It's been renamed Activity Link. It works the same as before; only the name changed, to distinguish it from the new Detail Plan Link.

Quick reminder: Use Detail Plan Link when you want to share how a Unit, Topic, or Activity is taught — useful for scope and sequence documents and LMS assignments. Use Activity Link when you want to share the activity itself.
